Stripes & Solids - &- Spring Number Eggs

Spring officially arrives this week and although there is snow in the forecast (can you believe it?!) we are trying to get in the spirit of Spring Time! Today we worked with our number recognition, corresponding numbers, and number matching using our spring eggs.

Later we did a great activity to reinforce some of our recent vocabulary. We have been working with the words "solid" and "striped". To have a little fun with our new vocabulary we painted our own outfits in stripes and solids. This activity helped reinforce sight words, vocabulary, fine motor skills, direction following, letter sounds, color mixing, and handwriting skills.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

It has been an eventful week! We were hot on the trail of that sneaky leprechaun but were unable to catch him! He left us all sorts of evidence, even green tinkle in the potty! Even though we didn't catch him we did have a lot of fun in the process. 

Today we worked with number recognition, counting, matching, and sequencing, as well as puzzle skills while we put together a rainbow and leprechaun!

Happy Pi Day and Making Pots of Gold

As you know the sneaky leprechaun has been paying us visits when we are out of the room! Today he had a blast decorating our cubbies which we found when we arrived today! We still haven't caught him yet, but we sure are trying. We tried to lure him into our room with our fake gold during one of our math lessons. No luck here! But we did strengthen our number recognition skills, our counting skills, following direction skills, and even vocabulary skills (next, before, after) while we made 6 pots of gold! 

Later we were excited to celebrate National Pi Day! Pi is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter -- which is a bit heavy of a concept for our young, bright minds. So we kept it exciting and relevent by working with circles! We worked on our fine motor skills, handwriting skills, and shape identification skills while we made a pig!
