Spiders, Eye Balls, and Counting! Oh My!

We are about to move into October which means it's time for some creepy crawly fun! Our math lesson today had it all. We are working on one-to-one correspondence while moving objects and counting. We are also working on checking our work and are always working to build our fine motor control. This activity had us counting eyeballs and placing them in our creepy spiders. We were also challenged to make the number with our fingers--something of which we have been working our fingers to the bone on! We worked our pincer fingers to pick up each eyeball as well!

There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves

To follow our adventures add your email address to the right of the screen.

We read There Once Was a Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves today then we made our own! The old lady swallowed some leaves, a shirt, pants, a pole, hay, and a rope! At the end of the book she sneezed out a scare crow! This activity helped us with our listening skills, sequencing, "on top of", "under", "below", following directions, and fine motor control.

Measuring Our Height in Apples

Today during math we measured our height in apples! We took our measurement then counted how many apples high we were. Once we did that we practiced writing our height and worked with number recognition.

Reading Buddies

Our class, along with Ms. Burbage's class have an opportunity each Friday to read with Mr. Casey's class. It's a lot of fun to have big reading buddies!
