Traveling by Bubble

As most children, we really love bubbles. Yesterday as we blew bubbles on the playground we loved watching how high they could fly or how far they traveled. Today we spent some time imagining what it would be like to travel in a bubble. Where would we go? What would we see?

After we had a little fun with bubbles we made spent some time describing what our trip would be like. Then we made ourselves into traveling bubbles! Keeping with our month's Earth theme, but better way to make bubbles than by recycling! This activity was great for tapping into our imagination, critical thinking, and fine motor control.

Bubbles

We will be working on some top secret projects the next couple weeks so forgive our lack of detailed communication! We will share all of our projects with you after a special day in May where we celebrate someone even more special to us!

We had a great time enjoying the spring weather today! We even had a chance to blow bubbles and catch a few.

Saving the Planet

Earth Week continued today with our lesson on saving the planet. We each thought about parts of nature and the earth that we love the most. We talked about the things we could do to protect the earth and the parts of it we love. It's a lot of work protecting the planet but we can all do our part!

Later we worked on a fun project to help display the parts of the planet we love.

We started by taking a photo of ourselves pretending to hold up the whole world!

We then added our hand print to make our world more personal!

Then we attached our answers to our feet, and our hands to our world!

Happy Earth Day-Cupcakes

It's Earth Day! In celebration of Earth Day we made our very own Earth Cupcakes! We practiced measuring, number concepts, counting, adding, direction following, sequencing, and fine motor control as we mixed together our ingredients.

In order to make the Earth we needed a little food coloring!

Fill cups about half way with blue batter.

Then take a squirt bottle to add the green inside each cupcake! A great hand control activity for the students!

Enjoy!
