Dr. Charles Drew

Today we continued with our Black History Month Unit and learned more about Dr. Charles Drew. Dr. Drew researched and developed new techniques for storing blood and therefore developed the large scale blood bank.
We talked about why blood is important to our bodies and how a doctor would take some of our blood if we donated it. We then made our own (pretend of course) vial of blood! Thank you Dr. Drew!

A great fine motor activity!

  1. What did you use for the plastic bags?

  2. Thanks for your comment! It was packaging from a mailing actually. I found it in our school recycle bin. I've done it before with cut ziplock bags too. Just use scotch tape on the sides. It works great!
