Keeping up the warm Holiday spirit today as we made counting and sequencing trees! This activity helped with shape understanding, "bigger"/"smaller" concepts, counting, directions (bottom, top, middle), sequencing (what comes next, what comes before), fine motor control, following directions.
First the students began with 10 triangles of all different sizes. Using background knowledge, students needed to decide which number should begin at the bottom of the page. Number 1 is the biggest, so we started at the bottom just like a tree.
