Fish Windchime

As camp comes to an end we are wrapping up our Brazil and Amazon study. Today we made fish wind chimes out of recycled plastic eggs and pipe cleaners.  This activity was great for reinforcing counting, patterns, fine motor control, and following directions.

To begin students threaded eggs through a pipe cleaner.

Earlier in the week we had some fun time outside with bubbles!

Fling Painting

Today we got a chance to express ourselves creatively and actively! We got to fling paint! It was a great whole body project that helped build turn taking skills, color skills, gross and fine motor control, and following directions.

Volcanoes

Today we had a little science fun! We talked about the dormant volcanoes in Brazil and how there is an island so steep that only crabs and spiders can live on it! That island was made from a volcano that is thought to be the oldest one on earth. Although the volcanoes in Brazil are dormant, we decided to see what it would be like if one were to erupt.

We later used the pressure from the reaction to blow up a balloon....

....sometimes things doing always go as planned! HAHA it was a great learning experience in being able to laugh when things don't always go our way.

We just try again!
