Snapshots of the Amazon

We have been having so much fun learning about Brazil! Today we talked about the Amazon River. We took a virtual tour of the river and made observations about it. We even learned that the Amazon has real pink river dolphins! We talked about the different water life that live in the Amazon River compared to what may live in the rivers in America.

Since we took our virtual tour we made a "snapshot" of our trip. The activity helped us with fine motor control, creative expression, color recognition, and making personal connections.

Later we had some fun catching up on a project we missed!

Studying Brazil-The Rain Forest

Today we "traveled" deeper into Brazil to learn more about the Amazon Rain Forest! We read the book The Great Kapok Tree where we learned about the importance of preserving the rain forest as well as kind of animals we would see if we took a trip there. After we read the book we made our very own Monkeys! We used all different shapes to make our monkey, including circles, and even a heart!

After the faces were finished we began working on the bodies. We used recycled shredding to stuff our bags we used for the bodies.

To made the arms, legs, and tail we used a long piece of paper and crumbled it long ways.
