With the weather finally warming up we thought it would be a great idea to do an Ocean Theme this week! Today's activity was to make a clam shell. This activity was great for reinforcing color recognition, counting, fine motor control (threading), sequencing, and following directions.

Making Pet Jellyfish
Today we began talking about animals of the ocean. We read a fun book all about jellyfish and later made our very own pet jellyfish as a follow up activity. By making jellyfish we were able to reinforce color identification, counting (tentacles), adding, compare lengths and sizes, and work on our fine motor control. We also worked on making predictions on whether or not our balloon would sink or float.
First Mrs. Burns helped us fill our balloons with just a little water. We had to make sure to leave a little air inside as well to ensure it floated.
We added one drop of blue food coloring.
