The Lorax

I speak for the trees! With the start of spring and Earth Day just around the corner we read Dr. Seuss' The Lorax!
Afterwards we made our own Truffala Trees!

We also had a blast on the playground!

Sorting, Counting, Comparing, Making Turtles

We continued working on sorting, counting, comparing, and the concepts of "more" and" less" today by making turtles! After we read the story of the Rabbit and the Turtle we sorted poms and compared piles with our friends. We later made turtles from recycled soda bottles! It was a great activity for math reinforcement, following direction, fine motor control, and color recognition.

Happy April Fools' Day!

It's April Fools' Day and we have jokes all around! We stared the day with this little guy below.
Is your refrigerator running?

Later we made Doughnut Seeds to trick our parents! But before we made them we sorted our doughnut seeds by color, counted them, and compared our numbers with our friends. We talked about concepts such as "less" and "more". Afterwards we made our seed packets!

Attention Educators: You can find the template for the seed packets here.
