Winter break is approaching quickly and with it comes a lot of fun! Today we spent a little time talking about the big man in the red hat. We read a cute book titled "I see Santa Everywhere" and afterwards we made our own Santa disguises. This activity helped with number concepts, vocabulary concepts (on top, around), and fine motor control. We counted how many peanuts it took to make our santa's beard and hair prior to smiling for our photos!

Shaving Cream and Candy Canes
We had way too much fun with shaving cream today! After we played, drew, and wrote in shaving cream we added red paint and made candy canes pressing our candy cane prints into the paint and shaving cream.

Counting Tree
First the students began with 10 triangles of all different sizes. Using background knowledge, students needed to decide which number should begin at the bottom of the page. Number 1 is the biggest, so we started at the bottom just like a tree.

The Most Famous Reindeer of All!
Our Reindeer received international attention on Thursday as they were featured by Target as a holiday diy inspiration on Target's social media channels! What an exciting honor!
Sorting and Making Ornaments
Today we worked on sorting items to determine which ones were big and which were little, as well as sorting by colors. Before we began we described the items we were working with--fuzzy, shiny, bright, soft, and fluffy. Then we started sorting!
First by size:
...thin by colors.
Later we made ornaments out of all of our hard work! This activity really reinforced our fine motor skills as we pinched and placed small fuzzies in our plastic ornament! And of course we had to add our touch of ourselves with our photos!
