Snowmen At Night!

Our snowmen do all sorts of things at night! First we read Snowmen At Night as a class. We worked on our listening skills and made predictions based on pictures as well as what we had already read. Afterwards we made our own puffy snowmen by counting out chunks of snow! All of our snowmen's parts were DIFFERENT sizes but all three parts help to make a WHOLE snowman! We took a FEW pieces of snow chunks at a time to make our snowmen. We counted how many chunks of snow we used to make each circle.

Later we had a little fun making some penguins as well!

Our Names in Lights!

Today we made our names in lights! We were given pictures of lights each with one letter of our names on them. We had to put the letters in order and then string our name in lights! This activity helped with letter recognition, letter sounds, spelling of name, fine motor control (threading), following directions, and being festive! 

Spray Painting Snow Flakes

We are getting into the Holiday spirit each day! Today we "spray painted" snow flakes. We used spray bottles to spray paint into snow flakes and then removed them to see that the snow flakes had left their mark on our papers! This activity helped us with building fine motor strength, creativity, and following directions.

Later we had a little fun with Holiday Dress-Up!

There Was An Old Lady That Swallowed a Bell

To continue with our seasoned traditions we read There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bell today! These are some of our favorite stories and we always have a good time recreating the stories. This time the Old Lady resembled a Holiday Elf and what better way to get into the Holiday spirit! 

This activity helped us with story sequencing, listening skills, fine motor control, and following directions.
