Today we worked on shapes and in doing so we created Shape Owls. Each Owl was a different shape that we discussed today. We are continuing to learn about sides, corners, and shape names. Today we worked with a square, rectangle, triangle, circle, and hexagon. This geometry activity helped us with shape recognition, shape naming, sides, corners, following directions and fine motor control

Spiders, Eye Balls, and Counting! Oh My!
We are about to move into October which means it's time for some creepy crawly fun! Our math lesson today had it all. We are working on one-to-one correspondence while moving objects and counting. We are also working on checking our work and are always working to build our fine motor control. This activity had us counting eyeballs and placing them in our creepy spiders. We were also challenged to make the number with our fingers--something of which we have been working our fingers to the bone on! We worked our pincer fingers to pick up each eyeball as well!
Check out our new Bulletin Board--complete with actual light up lanterns!

There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves
To follow our adventures add your email address to the right of the screen.
We read There Once Was a Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves today then we made our own! The old lady swallowed some leaves, a shirt, pants, a pole, hay, and a rope! At the end of the book she sneezed out a scare crow! This activity helped us with our listening skills, sequencing, "on top of", "under", "below", following directions, and fine motor control.
