Spray Painting!

You know it has been a rough summer when you are excited to go outside because it's only 90 degrees! Well today we took advantage of the "break" in the heatwave and worked on letter recognition, letter sounds, letter associations, hand grip, fine motor control, gross motor control, and following directions while we "spray painted"!

We were all given spray bottles and asked to find the first letter in a given word and certain beginning letter sounds. Once we found them we got to spray paint them with our squirt bottles. We had a blast learning while being creative!

Later in the day we got a little silly with Mrs. Burns and had some fun before dismissal. We were doing what we do best; being hams in front of the camera and Mrs. Burns loves it!

Popcorn Counting

Today we worked on counting by using popcorn! We talked about the letter 'P' and practiced making the sound by saying "popcorn". Then we added popcorn to our own popcorn buckets. Once we were done with our pictures we counted real popcorn and enjoyed a little treat. This activity helped us with number sense, counting, fine motor, handwriting, and following directions.

Sprinkles!

One of our new vocabulary words is Sprinkle. What better way to demonstrate Sprinkles than an ice cream sundae? We made our own sundae with two scoops of ice cream and blue sprinkles! This activity helped us with letter sounds, handwriting, making real life connections, following direction, and fine motor control.

Crescent Moon

Today we continued working on our Word Time vocabulary. To stick to our "Sky
theme, our new words were crescent, moon, and stars. We practiced our handwriting by tracing the letters of crescent, moon, and stars. We then made a fun picture using our crescent moon and stars. We counted all of our stars and shared our finished project with our classmates!
