Crescent Moon

Today we continued working on our Word Time vocabulary. To stick to our "Sky
theme, our new words were crescent, moon, and stars. We practiced our handwriting by tracing the letters of crescent, moon, and stars. We then made a fun picture using our crescent moon and stars. We counted all of our stars and shared our finished project with our classmates!

25,000 Hits & The Number Five-Five Ice Cubes

Teach Them to Fly has surpassed 25,000 hits! What a milestone! A special thank you to all of our visitors. We hope you enjoy a special peek into our lives at school.
If you would like to receive Teach Them to Fly in your inbox each day, please add your email address to the right of the screen. Thank you for all of your support!

As we battle heatwave number 4 of the summer we thought what better way to battle the heat than an ice cold drink- sort of! While we worked with the number Five today we practice some of our fine motor control by counting to five on our fingers, counting five objects around the room, and then finally adding five ice cubes to our fictional juice! Stay cool out there!

This activity helped us with our fine motor control, our number recognition, our number concept skill building,  counting, and direction following.

Color Sight Words & Sorting

Today we took advantage of this heatwave and tried up-cycle some of our crayons! We reviewed color sight words (pink, purple, green, oranges, blue, yellow, brown, and red). Afterwards we took turns sorting and placing a number of broken crayons with their like colors. Then we set out tins out in the sun to bake! Surprisingly, they will need one more day in the heat before they are ready to use! Check back tomorrow.

Almost there; one more day should do it!
