Blueberry Waffle Letters & Sunglasses

Wow, we had a full day today! We started the first phase of a really fun project today! You'll have to check back tomorrow to see what we have been up to---but we promise it's worth the wait!

We continued working on letter identification, letter formation, and letter sounds as we got creative with a healthy snack! We used blueberries to form a number of letters while we talked about the sound each made and what animal started with each letter. Afterwards we enjoyed some fresh blueberries as a part of our snack.

Later we continued working on our new vocabulary words; "Shine", "Sun", and "Bright". We also worked on our handwriting and fine motor control as we wrote our new vocabulary words. Finally we added a little style to our likenesses! We look so fresh and cool now....check it out!

We love soccer almost as much as our teacher! We felt so grown up measuring how tall we are on our new growth chart of one of our favorite players! We talked about how important it is to eat healthy and play to grow big and strong ourselves!

Spelling Our Names in Fireworks & Getting Exercise with Friends!

The Fourth of July is tomorrow! We wanted to make the most of it and have fun with fireworks one last  time! This time though, we spelled our names out in fireworks! We talked about how we spell our names, letter sounds, what comes next, sequencing (for both glueing and our names), fine motor control, and following directions! 

Later in the day we spent some time with our friends from Ms. Z's class in the gym! 

We move so fast, we are just a blur!

Graphing 4th of July Fish & Meet Mood Bear

F is for Fourth, Freedom, Flag....and Fish! 

We continued building our math skills by sorting and graphing 4th of July goldfish today! We compared our colors, worked on "how many?", "less", and "more" concepts while also working on graphing, following directions, and fine motor control.

Mood Bear

Today we continued to talk about how to read each other's facial expressions. To best understand what others faces are expressing we have to know what it is feels like ourselves. We began our lesson by doing Emotion Cards. This activity has a student draw a card and demonstrate the emotion to his or her friends through facial expressions. We have gotten pretty good at this game!

...and we love happy so much, we even did it again! 

After our game we made our own Mood Bears! Mood Bears are fun because we can change our bear's face to any mood we want! First we decorated them and then we had some fun changing their emotions! To make your own mood bear visit: Mood Bear
