JB Snorkelson- J & B letter sounds

More summer time fun! Today we worked on the letters J and B. We talked about what sound each letter makes and came up with our own summer and beach themed words beginning with J and B. We then made a snorkeling friend (JB Snorkelson) using the letter J as the snorkel and the letter B as the goggles! The activity strengthened our letter sound skills, following directions, and fine motor control.

Patterned Surfboards!

We are continuing our summer theme! Today we made pattern surfboards. We worked on AB and AABB patterns to make our own original surfboards. We also reviewed stripes, solids, and polka dots. We worked on following directions, counting, making patterns, and having fun!

Crab Sequencing

Summer is just around the corner! We are preparing ourselves with a little fun in the classroom. Today we read a House for Hermit Crab by Eric Carle. Afterwards we made our own regular crabs by following written pictorial directions. This activity helped us with sequencing, number identification, number concepts, sizes (large, medium, small), following directions (both verbal and written), and fine motor control.

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

Today we wrapped up our weather week by reading Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. We talked about what a mess it would be if real food really did fall from the sky! Afterwards we put our imaginations to the test and made our very own Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. The activity helped us with counting (the number of spaghetti strands), following directions, and fine motor control.
