Today we wrapped up our weather week by reading Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. We talked about what a mess it would be if real food really did fall from the sky! Afterwards we put our imaginations to the test and made our very own Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. The activity helped us with counting (the number of spaghetti strands), following directions, and fine motor control.

Making Our Own Clouds
To continue with our mini-weather unit we made our very own clouds! We talked about safety and how important it is to listen to a teacher and follow directions when doing any experiment. We had our own squares to stand on as we "cooked up" our clouds.
We used Ivory Soap to grow our own clouds in the microwave. Before we started we used our five senses to discover that our chunks were made of soap. We then put the soap in the microwave and Mrs. Burns hit start. We watched our clouds grow into something that could only be described as fluffy!
We moved our bulletin board of our pet clouds (they needed to go for a walk after all!) Check out our last experiment and how we made pet clouds by clicking here
