Planting Seeds

We planted our very own seeds today! We talked about what a seed needs to grow. We are looking forward to watering our seeds each day, and making sure they get lots of sunshine to grow big and strong.

Happy Earth Day 2013

Happy Earth Day! Many of our learning activities have been Earth Day themed this month, so it was only fitting we do the most fun one on actual Earth Day! We continued working on building our skills of shape naming, color recognition, following directions, and fine motor control.  We had a good time being a little silly while we made a tiny versions of our selves holding the whole world in our arms!

We hope you enjoyed our Earth Day Project! If you would like to be updated on what we are doing each day, enter your email address to the right of the screen. You will receive updates via email each morning, following a post.

We Got Our Own Ladybugs!

Today we got our own real life ladybugs for our classroom. We get to watch them for a couple of days before we set them free outside. Before we met our real spotted friends, we made our own 3-d ladybugs. We worked our counting, color and shape recognition, as well as fine motor control to make our ladybugs.

We will take care of our real ladybugs for a few days before we set them free.

Although it was finally warm, it was a rainy day! But that's ok, we made the most of our recess and had it in the gym!

Social Intelligence

I thought today would be a great day to talk about some of our Social Intelligence lessons and themes we have been working on for the past few months. You probably have already seen Elmo, Common, and Colbie Caillat teach all of us how to control our anger; but it's one of our favorites and worth a revisit!

We use Belly Breathing whenever we become overwhelmed! This song teaches us just how to do it! Put your hands on your belly...!

We have also been working on having patience! It's a hard concept to learn but Elmo and Mr. Zach do a great job at explaining it. Having patience means to wait in a calm way.

One more fun song we have been singing along to is all about trying our best and never giving up!
