National Grilled (Toasted) Cheese Day - & Dandelions!

Today was National Grilled Cheese Day (or as Mrs. Burns calls it, Toasted Cheese Day)! We worked on shapes, colors, and sequencing to make our own grilled cheese, and then we had a sample of real grilled cheese! Delicious!

We also made dandelions today! We worked on colors, fine motor control, counting, shapes, and most importantly lines and curves.

15,000 Hits! Thank You!

It's official! The blog has surpassed 15,000 hits! This is a huge milestone for this tiny little program and I'm so proud to be a part of it! Thank you to all of the parents and family members of our small class for your continued support, as well as to all the other educators who visit the blog from time to time. I hope you all find is as useful, and as fun, as I do!

Stay tuned for many more fun moments in our little class!

Sincerely,
Jenn

The Mixed-Up Chameleon

Today we read The Mixed-Up Chameleon by Eric Carle. After reading we looked around the room and found some sneaky chameleons all over the place! We worked on color identification, counting, sequencing, and animal identification during our activity. In the end, we had some unique and beautiful Chameleons of our own!

Protect the Earth

In preparation of Earth Day, we have been spending some time talking about how we can better take care of the earth. Today we worked on shape identification (heart, circle), mixing colors (blue and yellow make green), fine motor control, and following directions to make our own "Protect the Earth" poster using our hand prints.

Cherry Blossoms

With Mrs. Burns missing her hometown and the Cherry Blossom Festival, we decided to make our own Cherry Blossoms! This activity had us working on letter sounds, counting, concepts such as "top" & "bottom", fine motor control, and following directions.
