Mae Jemison -First African American Woman in Space!
Today we continued our unit on Black History Month by learning about Mae Jemison; the first African American Woman in space! Before we started we read the book "Before You Go to the Moon" and talked about what it would be like to travel in space. Check our space helmets in celebration of Mae Jemison.

One Fish, Two Fish
Soon it will be Dr. Seuss' birthday and in celebration of such a fun day we have been reading some his most famous books. Today we paid tribute to One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. This project allowed us to work on counting (we counted ALL the fish in the class when we were finished), mixing colors (while washing hands-we made purple!), following directions, and fine motor control.

Jackie Robinson
Black History Month continues with more fun! Today we learned about Jackie Robinson! We then made Brooklyn Baseball Caps. This activity was a lot of fun; it helped us with following direction, fine motor control, letter sounds, and shape description. We hope you like them!
