M is for Melt

M is for melt! We decorated our pumpkins with crayons---melted crayons! We (slowly) melted our crayons with a blow dryer after discussing colors, and patterns.

We read Spookley the Square Pumpkin today. After enjoying the fun story about a pumpkin who was shaped all wrong who saved the day; we played our own Spookley game where we worked on shapes, counting, turn taking, following rules, and directions.

Painting Pumpkins, Planting Plants

P is for painting, pumpkin, and planting! Today we painted our own pumpkins that we later turned into flower pots! Once the pumpkin 'pots' were painted we added soil to our pumpkins and we will be taking care of them while the grow.

Welcome to October!

Today as we worked on alphabet sequencing and letter sounds we put a fun spin on our lesson! We used egg cartons to spell our Word Time words, and to order our letters. We also spent time threading alphabet beads, which helped us with our fine motor skills all at the same time!

M is for Mom, D is for Dad. F is for Family

Today we talked about our birthdays, traced them, and wrote them. Two of our friends' birthdays are only two days apart in May! We talked more about our families and began making our paper families by decorated paper cutouts with the letter 'M' (for mom), and the letter 'D' (for dad).

On Friday we talked about our favorite things. We spent some time with Mrs. Burns looking for pictures of things we loved and then glued to our picture frame!

We even had some fun with shaving cream this week!

Have a great weekend!

The last post has been updated with new photos to include our friend who was out sick! He made his own colorful shadow too! Click here to check it out!

More 'All About Me'!

Today we painted our outlined selves! We picked our favorite colors and had a blast!

Later we went on a letter/word hunt through magazines! Some of us were looking for letters in our names, and others were looking for describing words!

It's 'All About Me' Week!

This week's theme is all about me! We are learning new things about ourselves and our friends through various activities. Today we traced ourselves for an upcoming surprise! The theme carried over into math as we talked about our birthdays, wrote our numbers, and counted objects that we loved! During reading and language we talked about describing words and what we like most about being ourselves!

We missed our classmate, T, today! We hope you are feeling better!!
